The work of ARD FRC has wide reaching implications for both the local and wider community. It is hard to imagine a new, young community of over 7,000 people with half of those being Irish by birth and the other half originating from outside of Ireland being as progressive and cohesive without the presence of a community hub in the form of the FRC. It is well recognised that the traditional Irish welcome the host population have given to those that have arrived and made their homes in the community has created a unique and special atmosphere that presents great opportunities for the community and young people to develop and grow in a positive direction.

Young people are at the heart of our community with 29.9% of the population being aged 17 and under and 18% of the babies being born in the City being born to residence of our community. ARD FRC partners with schools, youth groups and other agencies to ensure that are work is effective and cost efficient and that we cover all basis without duplication.

On an average week there are over 75 courses/classes/events taking place either in the FRC or in the community with average weekly attendance records of over 1,500 people.

ARD Family Resource Centre receives government funding for 1 full time and 2-part time workers and rent. All other costs for overheads, events, projects and supplementary staff are met by fundraising activities. Both ARD FRC and the community would be grateful of any donation which would be used to benefit the identified needs of the community.
